Appearance

Udrâk is the very definition of repugnant. He is tiny, even by cave orc standards, standing barely 140cm (4'5") tall. His back is bent, he is unable to straighten his legs completely, his bones stick out of his skin around every joint and one of his hands is a fat, wort-ridden claw. He is toothless save for 5 or so large fangs that stick out of his mouth, causing one side of his lip to constantly roll up. His head is totally disproportionate and unsymmetrical; covered in lumps and bumps, his ears are in different places, his nose looks like it exploded across his face and his lumpy forehead hangs over his twitching, tiny eyes.

His armour is a mess of stolen parts, mostly old Tolagâl scraps (now completely worn out through the years), and parts stolen from slain Militia men. His only real battle-worthy armament being a composite bow, clearly pried from elven hands.

Background

Grotesque Brood

Udrâk's life started in Tolagâl, just a few years before the Fall of Tolagâl, being spewed face-first, fully formed, from a spawn pit into the mud. He was the first of the Ashdurbûk Kraadu's Ologijaki to survive his experiments. Though clearly he does not even closely resemble the vision Kraadu had for his army of Troll-Orcs. Though a failure, Kraadu gave Udrâk a "chance" to prove himself. The Ashdurbûk ordered the hideous little creature to be cast down into the mines of the garmogatz and see if he could survive, though Kraadu could not have cared less either way.

Around the year 350, a mere few months before the fall, Udrâk reappeared from the mines. Having been down there 3 years none of the orcs remembered him. He would have been killed, based purely on his bizarre appearance, if it wasn't for a pack of wargs by his side. Kraadu, however, did remember. Since he had been disowned, the Ashdurbûk's experiments had continued to fail, producing deformed corpse after deformed corpse from the spawn pit. Now mildly impressed with his creation, the orc king granted Udrâk his "freedom", (though the concept of a "free orc", the Uruki, had been abolished by Kraadu) granting him a place in the army of Tolagâl.

Due to Kraadu's recipe Udrâk was not a very social creature and instead spent most of his time in the warg pit, alone, with his ferocious pets, though he would obey any order given to him. The other orcs left him alone, perceiving him as their king's "prize", even though Kraadu never even looked at him again, let alone interact.

Tolagâl's End

Come the fall of Tolagâl, Udrâk was sent to the front with his wargs. His loyal hounds ripped through formations, terrifying the younger Trainees and Footmen. Though, when some of his pets were slain and, eventually, the Militia's push into Tolagâl saw the death of most of his orc group and burning of the warg pit, Udrâk found himself distraught and panicked. With his leader dead and his wargs dying, Udrâk was lost. Taking what remained of his foul, beloved pets, he fled into the forest.

The end of Tolagâl had come. Udrâk, being bred to blindly obey orders and not possess much free will, reverted to the only thing he had been taught to do. Kill. Together with his pack of wargs he wandered around Yew's wilderness, clueless, setting his wolves upon locals and small guardsmen scout groups, for both food, revenge and pleasure.

Some weeks later his wargs caught the smell of another orc. After days spent tracking the scent he finally found its source: General of Tolagâl, Xnath. But, since Xnath had fled the war in disgrace, he was not too happy to see another member of Tolagâl. Luckily for Udrâk, Xnath was well known for seizing any beneficial opportunity that came his way. Seeing this new orc approach him, though startled and panicked at first, he soon realised what a useful tool he might be in his own survival when Udrâk got down on his knees and grovelled before his former General.

The two orcs spent many years wandering ever more east, towards Cove and Vesper, fleeing the ever-increasing groups of Militia Scouts sent to clean up what remained of Tolagâl outside of their mine.

Enter Kusghuul

In the middle of the forests around Cove, Udrâk and his master were attacked by a small band of orcs. Thankfully they killed only one before their leader, Kusghuul, emerged and saw the two orcs bearing the former colours of Tolagâl. Though worn down and battered, the general's armour was unmistakable. Kusghuul convinced them to join forces, and being the mindlessly loyal creature he was, Udrâk could only obey his new master's orders. Xnath had seized another opportunity.

Udrâk served under the Shadow Alliance banner for quite some time, attacking Kusghuul's enemies in the area, and marauding local villages. His master had weaved a wonderful tapestry of lies and successfully manipulated Kusghuul, granting himself a comfortable position and Udrâk by mere association. Though he was enjoying being useful again, Xnath, on the other hand, was not best pleased with Kusghuul's aggressive tactics, seeing as the Shadow Alliance as only a mere fraction of what Tolagâl was, and fearful of a backlash that could compromise his new life of luxury.

Inevitably the end came. After careful planning and a show of tactical brilliance unseen by orcs since Tolagâl days, the Shadow Alliance forces managed to sneak in by boat, disguised as hired mercenaries, and seize the town of Cove. Though they were successful, their ferocious attack had cost Kusghuul half of his orcs. Some weeks later human reinforcements came and laid siege to the city, forcing the orcs out. Seeing himself back in Tolagâl Valley on the day of the last battle, Xnath panicked. His fury became incredible as he began slashing through orcs and humans alike in a desperate attempt to escape. Udrâk followed suit, knowing loyalty only to Xnath, and the two escaped from Cove, alone, leaving Kusghuul and his remaining forces to their fate.

Udrâk and his master have not been seen since.

Personality

Udrâk resembles a wild animal, both in looks and mentality. He has been bred to follow orders and not think for himself. Like a true, loyal, pet he finds himself a master and follows them until the end.
