Appearance
Xnath stands at the normal height for an orc at about 5'6". His nose is long, pointy, and slightly crooked from being broken too many times. Just above his nose lie his small horizontal slit-like eyes, his pupils are blood red. His mouth is relatively close to his nose, and is full of broken, yellow fangs. Xnath's chin is small and round. His facial features are all very close together, giving the impression of a constant scowl.
Xnath has many small scars on most parts of his body, he also has no left ear. It was cut off by a guardsman and he now only has a maggot infested wound in its place. Xnath is also missing a finger on his left hand, taken by one of the Gothai's Burznuti for disobedience. Although Xnath is quite a skinny average sized orc, his battle Armour gives quite the opposite impression. The thick sheets of dark steel and large boots make him seem almost as large as an Ologijak!
Background
Early Years
Xnath's life began in a small spawning pit at what was once a small forest orc village to the south of Yew. As a slave to a tribe named the 'Severed Heads' Xnath's early life was harsh, even by orcish standards.
Back breaking manual labour and constant beatings were his life until the day that an old shaman, Kraadu, claimed him to be his personal slave. Now Xnath could skip some of the menial tasks other orcs ordered him to do as his master was one of the more powerful orcs in the area.Rise through Tolagâl
Over time Xnath has developed an strong sense of loyalty to Kraadu, even while the old magician was shooting fireballs at him. When the forces of the Yewish militia raised the orcish village to the ground Xnath was one of the few orcs that survived, this was mainly because he had helped his master supplant the leader of the community, Mekka Urdgrub, before it was destroyed. After the battle Xnath came to live in Tolagâl with the remnants of the Severed Heads. However, after a few years his master, Kraadu, vanished.
Over time Xnath climbed up the ranks of Tolagâl and reached the rank of Luthr Ushatar. This soon changed when his master returned and replaced the Gothai, Magrekh, and made Xnath his General! All those years of serving the magician had paid off, as the only other ranking forest orc in Tolagâl at the time Xnath was one of the Ashdurbûk's most trusted servants.
Xnath lead Tolagâl's forces against the invading guardsmen on the last day of Tolagâl. When he realised that defeat was imminent he beheaded his personal bodyguard and fled the scene of the battle.
Aftermath
Some years after the Fall of Tolagâl, Xnath reappeared in the forests around Cove, daring not to return to the Militia-occupied Tolagâl valley. With him he brought a grotesque little orc by the name of Udrak, a fellow survivor of the fall. By coincidence, Xnath met with the orc Kusghuul, a fellow Tolagâl soldier and creator of his own warband. The orcs joined forces; Xnath eager to take revenge on the race of men, and whoever else got in his way. Xnath abused Kusghuul's sense of nostalgia and inbred loyalty to Tolagâl, and the Ashdurbûk, to assume a position of power, making his life more comfortable. He revelled briefly in the joys of gold, slaughter and both human and orc whores once again. However, Xnath soon began to plot with Udrak how best to overthrow, or subdue, Kusghuul, who seemed far too eager to start wars considering his army was barely a handful of orcs and other creatures.
Xnath was slow to act and after several months, now under the Shadow Alliance banner, he found himself in the midst of a war with the Baronship of Cove, Vesper and Trinsic. The orcs did manage to occupy Cove, but it was short lived, and eventually the orcs were forced out. Xnath and Udrak, now his loyal minion, once again fled from the scene of battle, carving down orc and human alike in a fury to escape.
He has not been seen since.
Personality
Xnath is a coward at heart, however his rank, his thick armour, and the backing of the Ashdurbûk give him all the confidence he needs to fight the enemies of Tolagâl. He is still usually the first to flee when the battle goes ill though. Xnath dislikes most of the orcs in Tolagâl and is only indifferent to the ones who he does not dislike, he even holds some dislike for the Ashdurbûk but does not act on it because he does not want to be burned to a crisp. Xnath would rather bide his time until Kraadu grows weak or ill before he stabs him in the back and takes the throne of Tolagâl as that is how he has always gone about things.
His ambition is to become the Ashdurbûk and to rid the world of humanity.
