The Lost City of Wind is a haven for mages and other magic-users, located deep beneath the Serpent's Spine Mountains. Its only entrance is a small marble structure, high at the top of a winding and maze-like trail, overlooking the Chaos shrine. Only those with a deep understanding of the arcane can venture in; for all else it would appear to be nothing more than an elaborate dead end. Wind is a strange mixture of monster-infested dungeon and peaceful township, with daemons, dragons, and liches wandering freely amongst the darker tunnels. But if one is courageous enough to venture further, one will eventually come across the beautiful marble streets of Wind itself. Those streets are dominated by two palatial libraries; the Seat of Knowledge and the Learned Mage, with the hidden city forking out around them.
Wind is a city of mages who believe in balance in the world. The long-dead sorcerors that built the city also crafted an unseeable barrier, ensuring that the evil biengs beyond could not harm them. Amongst the tall structures can be found a teleporter, leading to a wide subterranean park. It has been speculated that the founding mages planned to turn this lush, magically sustained woodland into some manner of garden, or orchard with which to sustain themselves. At some point, however, the beasts around them managed to break through, and have since claimed the parkland as their own; with its central lake now home to a brood of Kraken.
