Vampires

In this world there have always been great predators. Beasts of power and strength born to hunt other living creatures. Humanity and the other mortal races have often found ways, through technology and magic, to become some of the greatest predators of all. Even mighty dragons have fallen to a band of well trained humans.
It was only right something finally hunt them.
From the darkness of nightmares, fueled by blood and lust, and a greed for eternity, there were Vampires. Many myths exist on how they came to be, what exactly they are...
But there is but one truth. They are the damned, the self damned, the eternal. The hunters of life.
In our world various beings have existed that have been labeled VAmpires, and while some are, others are but horrible creations of necromancy and magic gone wrong. The few Vampires that did and do exists have always been unique and horrible.
What is known of them on a factual basis. They are weakened by the light of the sun, and thus are found to roam freely at night, or in Malas and Felluca, the dark facets, where light has been weakened by dark magics.
They drink of the blood of living beings, and require it to survive. Not having it can destroy them, destroy them mind and body. It has been recorded going without feeding for long will cause such a being to go into a wild frenzy. Creatures that once had full controll of their will, ruled by dark and villainous minds, go wild and feral.
Their looks, it seems, are almost alway self determined. Often mantaining the look of their life into unlife, or altering their appearance as they see fit.
Some known Vampires such as Ra'karn Moon are noted to have bone like claws for hands, and odd bone protrusions on his arms. Others are pale and noble looking, the Noble Dead.
The most horrid recorded information on Vampires is how they become as they are. Myth and legend told that it was the bite of the Vampire that turned a mortal into such a being... the truth is much more horrid and repulsive. To become such a creature is a choice.
Drained of nearly all of ones own blood, by a Vampire, that Vampire can chose to offer his own dark blood to the mortal. If accepted, thus shall they rise by choice as the eternally damned.
Known Vampires have been documeneted to gather in Clans, and seem to share similar traits within the clans. The clans of the remembered past have been Clan Wolfren, Clan Tremere, Clan Vasfuris, Clan V'Lorea, and Clan Zealot. Other such beings may have existed but these are those most well known in our history.
Those Clans mentioned above once form the entity known as The Spectral Court, a dark gathering of Vampire kind. Clan Tremere is recorded to have chosen to split from the Court some time ago, the reasons unknown, but in the process some of their blood did remain in the Court, and the members of this Schism lead by Lord Imrahil, would be known as Clan Vasfuris.
