Gerbo

Is it possible to create a single page, possibly linked from the editing help page, with a list of all the currently defined templates? It would probably be a useful resource for content creation, and for anyone who hoped to define new ones. --Semilah Meriwae

It would, yes. Once I get some free time on my hands, I will try write up some simple instructions on how to use the wiki.

Latest articles

Is there some kind of function or some button you can click to see the latest added articles? If not, can it be done? --John Dell 17:26, 13 September 2006 (CEST)

Check this http://wiki.moongates.org/wiki/Special:Recentchanges. --Gerbo 17:51, 13 September 2006 (CEST)

About the undead article change you made

Not sure if you noticed, but half the ranks is cut in half by you moving the picture in the article. Think you did it on the T*M one too. Just wanted to tell you that it might not look so good. --John Dell 15:48, 20 September 2006 (CEST)

Can you link to the article revisions please? If it's covering any text, feel free to move it so it fits better. --Gerbo 16:41, 20 September 2006 (CEST)
http://wiki.moongates.org/wiki/The_Undead You had moved the picture so that half the ranks were placed next to the picture and the other half under the picture. It looks, well bad. I just wanted to point it out, I know Octi said something about you doing something like it with the T*M one aswell.
--John Dell 21:50, 20 September 2006 (CEST)
Hm, I'm not sure what looks so terrible now, I can't see any text that's covered? Does that mean it's fixed? --Gerbo 23:16, 20 September 2006 (CEST)
No. No text is covered. Can you see the were it says ranks?
Ranks
1. Ancient One
2. Caste Captain
3. Sect
4. Bone [Caste]
Those ranks are next to the picture, the following number of ranks are under the text
5. Neophyte [Caste]
6. Skeleton
7. Unborn
do you understand what I mean?
--John Dell 21:37, 21 September 2006 (CEST)
Hm, no, I can't see that bug. What webbrowser and operating system are you using? --Gerbo 21:51, 21 September 2006 (CEST)

Firefox. But the ranks were all in line before your change, so I guessed you changed something that cut the ranks. Remember what you did that changed it? Because I don't know what different changes does to certain things in a document.

Using the role-playing page

There has been a link to Role-playing for quite some time but the page is empty. I would like to suggest that we begin to use it. The wiki will be read by many who are familiar with MMORPGs but perhaps know nothing about role-playing as we understand it. Here is an opportunity to recruit new players nearer home, as it were.

There are several very good role-playing guides on Stratics and CoRE that could be used, but are we allowed to copy the Stratics ones here? Do UO know about this wiki project, and if so do they support it? It would make sense to use existing material.

Apart from general guides to rp there are also some very good articles on specific aspects of role-playing, like "running a tavern" (there are at least 2 I know of). It was one of these that decided me to sign up to UO.

I appreciate that much of this material is not Europa-shard specific, and while we don't want a flood of non-Europa rp material on the wiki, we could use some and perhaps refer to external links for further information?

There is also the Flagship article that Irvyn and I wrote together that was published in its Nov/Dec 2005 issue, and this is Europa-shard specific; also CoRE-specific. (I would need to check with the editor if its OK to copy it onto the Wiki, but its nearly a year old already, so I doubt there would be a problem: the editor already agreed to us putting it on the CoRE forum, where its been for some time) I have a word-file of the article and no doubt Irvyn has one too.--Angst 13:51, 22 September 2006 (CEST)

Well that has happened because Gerbo wanted to use a role-playing guide from a player in their guild I think, problem is that it's copyrighted. There was some things written in the role-playing but it was offensive things that we had to delete. -- Marcus

That's right. I've asked Laulile to write something up for it, and she's started a roughline of the article. However, feel free to start the article and add what information you want. However, I suspect there will be quite a debate on what good role-play is. :-) --Gerbo 12:15, 23 September 2006 (CEST)

Commit wars

Arr! you beat me to it this time!

--Marcus 17:45, 28 November 2006 (CEST)

Bwhaha. We really ought to compete in actually writing the Poste ;-) --Gerbo 21:26, 28 November 2006 (CET)
Hehe that would be funny, you'd see two similar poste every day! --Marcus 22:24, 28 November 2006 (CEST)

SpamBots & Protection

Noticed the SpamBots target any link they get their hands on from the main page so I placed them all under protection, registered users only. Just letting you know why I did that. --Marcus 06:01, 7 May 2007 (CEST)

Understood. --Gerbo 16:49, 8 May 2007 (CEST)
