The Undead, their thralls, and some orcs defend their key temple.
(also known as the Undead Crypts) are located in the
north of
Yew and are still considered one of the most dangerous places to traverse, despite the fact that many of the more free-willed and powerful
undead have returned to their "long slumber". Although originally just the main crypt in the northern forest of Yew, the Undead gradually became more powerful in the region and turned many of the surrounding buildings into crypts, torture chambers, keeps, temples and other buildings for their twisted schemes. Thus, the "Undead Lands" became somewhat of a crooked city few dared to go near. The most important building was the Temple of the
Guardian, where the wicked lich
Zhedra slept.
