The Ninja (Bujin'Kai)
From MoongatesWiki
Little is still known of the ninja that worked for the Bujin'Kai- and Kotodama-leaders. It has always been a single ninja clan that offered their services. The ninja played a key role in battles in the early history of the Bujin'Kai, but they faded to the background later on and were hardly ever seen anymore in large combat. During the time of the Kotodama the ninja were only active in infiltration and assassination assignments.
There is reason to believe that the higher ranks did not want any ninja to interfere anymore in large battles, as this would cause annoyance with the samurai.
The methods of the ninja differed throughout their years of service, depending on who was in charge. Ninjas were allowed to take out targets on their own at first, failure of course resulting in severe punishment. Later on this changed, and ninja had to work together in small groups for maximum efficiency as a result of the opposition becoming better equipped and trained.
A lot of the completed assignments of the ninja went unnoticed. Credit was never claimed by them and it is fair to assume that hardly anyone will remember spotting them as disguises were an important part.
