The Council of Thieves are an organization of criminals in Yew, working towards a common goal, gold. Assuming a friendly helpful impression, the Council of Thieves appears to be good friends to those opportunists that linger nearby, no matter of what rank or title. The Council of Thieves regards itself as a family to those within, never allowing one of its own to fall upon hard times.

History

The Council of Thieves were once a small band of outlaws on the outskirts of Britain, from recruiting orphans they developed an army of thieves and began massing large amounts of weapons and illegal wares. As the Council has found "friends" within the lower rank circles of the townguards in Britain, they were always one step in front of whatever kind of action was planned against the Council. The then Mayor of Britain suffered a grave loss of popularity caused by the alarming rise of criminal activities and the lack of force used against it, the Mayor hadn't delivered on his promises.

Discovering this, the Council of Thieves sent a small amount of rogues and one of their foremost leaders to the mayor's house at night, where they broke into his chambers and offered him a chance he could not refuse. And as soon as the plan came into work the Cells of Thieves retreated from certain areas of Britain, making it appear as if finally the Mayor was doing his job right, boosting the popularity for the then largely unpopular politician. In exchange the mayor forced the attention of the townguards away from the Council's most profitable projects.

The plan was a success and after a number of planned retreats by the Thieves, the mayor began to regain popularity and the guilds wealth grew far beyond any wealth they could have imagined. Then as soon as the mayor believed his popularity was high enough, he organised a full scale search for the Rogue's hideout. A stab in the back for the Thieves, as their small army of criminals were hunted down and hung in the middle of Britain. Since then the remaining members of the Circle of Thieves have arrived in Yew bringing with them a small portion of the immense wealth they had. In their short time they have instilled fear into the ordinary folk of Yew, as they once again start to build up an Empire of crime in Yew, under the new banner of the Council of Thieves.
