Serpent's Spine Mountains

The Serpent's Spine Mountains are named for their appearnce on the map; reminscent of a winding snake, slithering across the continent. Often referred to as the Spine of Britannia, it is a range of high peaked and snowy mountains that dominate the horizon of western and central Sosaria, seperating the Deep Forest in the north from Britain and the lands of Britanny Bay in the south. They are next to impassable, and hold the entrance to the dungeon of Despise in their lowland passes. At their eastern edge, before the Desert of Compassion, lies the shrine of Chaos and a broad network of winding pathways leading to the hidden town of Wind. Few people live amongst the mountains, though in the valleys and plateaus there exist settlements of ettins, ogres, orcs, and the nests of harpies.
