Radek Wilkes spent his early years in and around Yew, the son of Henry and Mary Wilkes, a farmer and tailor. As a child he would peek around the buildings near Stonekeep and watch the guardsmen at work, longing to become one. As he grew, Radek's desire for recruitment waned, and he instead set about doing odd jobs across Yew; from a farm-hand and carpenter's apprentice, to an errandboy for the scribes of Empath Abbey. Such work proved tiresome and unrewarding, however. And so, shaking his father's hand and kissing his mother's cheek, he packed his few belongings and made for Stonekeep. Once arriving in that old and battle-worn citadel he took the recruiter's tests and passed with ease, beginning his life in the Militia. Having risen through the ranks as both Guardsman, and Marksman, Radek now finds himself highly decorated, and amidst the officer classes, bearing the title of sergeant. He is married to fellow Markswoman Cordelia Wilkes, and with her has four sons, Graham Marshall Wilkes, twins Roman Morrison Wilkes and Blair Matthias Wilkes, and infant Dylan Marton Wilkes.

Appearance
Radek is tall, even by the Militia's standards, with something of a broad build to boot. His hands have a few scars on them from his earlier life as both carpenter's apprentice and farm hand. Rarely does he allow his facial hair to grow out of hand, keeping – with the exception of a small and stylish "goatee" – clean shaven at all times.
Personality
Radek began his career as someone who wanted to do well, and wanted to please his superiors, however after a while as footman, he realised no matter what you do to please them, some of them will always disrespect you, and treat you like dirt, from here on in, Radek lost his motivation to be disciplined and so became a more common rookie, who is not ill-disciplined, however, he could not be called disciplined either.
