Apologies from the Poste staff!
Yes thats right, occasionally we do apologize.
As you have seen recently ladies and gents the poste hasn't been as regular as it used to be. Now we apologize for this but with Avamass/Christmas coming and all we have to make preparations. Prepare the turkey, buy presents; even your dearest reporter Polly Patterson has a family locked in a cupboard somewhere and needs to get them sorted for the holiday. Keep sending us stuff in and we'll get the poste up as regularly as possible. Thanks, Polly Patterson.
Ceasefire between Marksmen and Kaldorians
Accord reached after Devante’s ex is taken prisoner by Poste correspondent, Roger Kilbride
The war over Serpent’s Hold seems to be over…for the time being. The war began after Marksmen captain, Devante Stirling, decided that it was time to kick out the Kaldorian occupants and take the island fortress back for Britannia. The Kaldorians, however, maintained that, as the island was given to them by Commander Jordan Jurrel of the Royal Britannian Guard, they had every right to be there, and refused to leave. Subsequently, the Marksmen made little impact on the Kaldorian forces, despite blowing up several buildings three weeks ago.
However, the situation reached boiling point on Wednesday after the Marksmen suffered a particularly crushing defeat and left in such a hurry that Captain Stirling’s former fiancée, Elise, was left behind. Elise, who serves as the regiment’s quartermaster, was taken prisoner by the Kaldorians and detained at their garrison in the Trinsic jungle. It is understood that Commander Soulshadow offered her safe return to Captain Stirling on condition that the Marksmen cease their war, but Stirling had other ideas, shooting the commander in the arm before taking Kaldorian kidnap queen, Shelly, prisoner.
Both women were released on Thursday night after the commander travelled to the Marksmen headquarters in New Paws and successfully negotiated a ceasefire.
According to the latest rumours, the Marksmen and Kaldorians may not only have reached a ceasefire, but could be fighting alongside each other in defence of Trinsic after several unprovoked acts of aggression from the Yew militia sparked war.
This would be an interesting development for the Marksmen, who have been strong allies of Yew for the best part of a year. It could be that the captain has been under pressure from elven ladyfriend Gwen Irima, who has been subject to considerable harassment by the elf-hating Yew militia. The next few days should be interesting, to say the least.
Yewmen at it again
Claiming Trinsic, not an easy job.
According to my sources Klion and a group of lackeys recently marched to Trinsic trying to claim it as their own! What cods-wallap I know though it seems to me the 'Lord Protector' is missing a few brain-cells as he dared to throw insults at two of Trinsic's loved Ladys 'Black widow' Tabbitha and Butch Cal Soulshadow. Below is a statement from the black widow herself which was sent in to me my anaoymouse.
Tuesday. I waited at Trinsics West gate to provide transport to the Jhelom Centre of Arts for the Virtue debate.
I was engaged in pleasant conversation with Kealyn the Duchy guard and watched her carry out her duties.
Suddenly several armed Yew Militia arrived and Kealyn approached them to ask there business.
As several more arrived,I recognized their leader and and greeted him 'Ah it is Klion '
He immediately took offense and retorted how I should address as him as Lord Protector.
I refused as he does not have my respect and adressess me as 'that wytch'
Firmly on his 'high horse' he immediately resorted to the usual verbal threats against me. Realising myself and Kealyn were at a great disadvantage I tried to buy us some time in the hope some more Duchy would arrive for duty. I steered the conversation towards my intention to bring him to trial for recent war crimes against innocent folk.
After insulting me further he then turned his threats toward Kealyn, I was some what relieved when Comander Soulshadow arrived. At least she would be able to summon aide if needed.
However my relief was short lived as Klion immediately ordered her arrest.
The Duchy ordered us into the city, for safety but now we had grown to 9 strong as more guards and passers by,stopped to observe.
We blocked his entry to the town
Klion decided to leave at this point, with his tail between his legs, throwing veiled threats over his shoulder to your guards
Rumours
Oddly our over feminine duke has recently called a meeting between a handful of people! Has he finally grown a backbone and charging back against Yew? Or is he discussing his next hair-do?
Letters
Dear Gretcha Gossip,
The Kaldorians may have come to these lands with all intentions of raiding and pillaging everyone - as you might know this includes Vesper herself. But the - no, not merely fervent - fanatical Yewmen are a greater danger to everyones land, including the kings. Theirs and apparently your definition of "the King's land" is essentially that some Royalist comes and sticks a flag into a hill and thats that. It is not so. There was land long before there was a Kingdom, and no matter how pretty the flag being stuck in it is, free people will not accept the theft and butchery that people like the Yewish purvey throughout lands that the crown does not hold. It is the counter-attack from those Republics, Baronies, and other ruled lands being brought by the mis-deeds by men like the Yewish that will crush the Kingdom, as has been seen in Minoc.
I commend the Duke of Trinsic for his bravery and dignity in knowing not only what is best for all people, but what is best for the Kingdom which he serves - the Yewish zealotry and barbarism not even being tolerated by those who want to achieve much the same thing is proof that the city of honor is still honorable and wise in a time where their fellow Royalists favour ill-concieved raids and attempts of conquest.
Signed, Hanse Davion Captain of the Vesper Militia
