Hanging for High Treason!

Trinsic harbours war criminals!

Recent events in Trinsic have seen yet another war begin throughout Britannia. The supposedly Loyalist Duke Irvyn Middlethorn amidst the beginnings of this war claimed again to be working for the Crown, well I think we can all say what total load of hypocrisy and stupidity said statement has. The Kaldorians came to Britannia to conquer and enslave us and they're directly threatening Lord British's empire. There's no possible way that can be defendable, I for one have no idea how Trinsic the so called City of Honour can possibly justify defending the Kaldorian invaders against such a feverently Loyalist force such as Yew.

Earlier this week, Lord Klion D'Gar and a few troops approached Trinsic with the view of taking away with them long sought after rebel scum, 'Lady' Cal Soulshadow, who as well as invading the Kings lands aided the Vesperian rebels. After numerous attacks in Yewish lands on loyalist soldiers and aiding the rebels in their attempt to take over control of Minoc there is no way of avoiding the fact that 'Lady' Cal Soulshadow is a war criminal.

Refusing the more than reasonable request in handing her over (goodness knows why she is allowed to walk freely amongst Trinsicans anyway), the Duchy declared war on Yew, thus confirming what we'd all been thinking, Trinsic is no longer a loyalist city. Not only do they harbour war criminals and traitors to the crown but Trinsic itself leant men to attack the Loyalists in Vesper city and provided a port for Covian supply ships to use and provided the rebels with arms and food. The food which was hoarded by the rebels and denied to the Vesperian people.

As I see it, Duke Irvyn should be tried for high treason! Whatever his reasons for not aiding Yew, there is no excuse for his blatant assistance in helping the Kaldorians in their quest to conquer the Kingdom. Mayhaps the Kaldorians have offered him a larger, more profitable title under their regime than Lord British has under his!

Klion Tarot Reading

There you have it, sent in by an anonymous Trinsican citizen, a direct threat towards one of the Kings elected members of Nobility. Again, that's treason. What is Trinsic coming to?

University Expedition to Montor

Monsters, fights and The Abyss. Sent in by A Freelance Reporter

After weeks of preparations, scouting missions and information gathering the expedition to the ruined and demon-infested town of Montor finally set out this past Monday. Courageous warriors and mages from the Order of the Knights Hospitaler, the Army of Kaldor, Haven, the Duchy of Trinsic and Vesper, together with some freelancing adventurers, accompanied the University Professor Dorian Abronsius from Umbra who was to conduct the research.

The trip to the ruins itself proved to be no problem, nor were the few demons on the outskirts of the area a problem for the experienced fighters. Even a wondrous golden dragon could be disposed quickly. Soon the ruined temple in the south-east of the area had been secured and the excavations began. Buried under the rabble several discoveries were made before the group moved northwards to the Shrine of Chaos ~ ironically a place of peace among the ruins.

Last stage of the research was the Tower of Ilshen herself, located at the shores of the Lake. Event took a dramatic turn though when a fearsome golden demon, shaped like a woman, descended the mountain from the Abyss itself, bearing down on the expedition and filling the hearts of the adventurers with fear (some of the males afterwards reported having been struck by some quite different feelings from the succubus as well, yet were unwilling to expand on this notion any more than had been inevitable). Several fighters were knocked out by the spells of the ghastly monster, yet the team managed to regroup and defeat the vile beast.

Once safely returned to civilisation the Professor told your trusty reporter that the expedition had been a great success. Several of the findings are damaged and in need of restoration and cleaning, yet several of the items appear to be of great scientific value. On the list are statues, scrolls, decorated stone vases and stone plates with old runes. The Professor assured us that once the restoration is completed an exhibition would be set up to present the findings to the broad public. He also wishes to relay his thanks to all that helped in the planning and expedition stages of this research project.

Rumours

The intelligence of the Kaldorians shines through! It's been heard that Himasa (a young Tokuno guy serving as a maul knight in Kaldor) inadvisably ate an unusual looking mushroom someone left at Trinsic West Gate and passed out. He recovered consciousness after Sergeant Mordred stuck his fingers down Himasa's throat and made him sick. The Commander then administered a strong laxative to purge the rest. The healers was a very puke-stained place after, needless to say!

Picture Time

Picture Time

  • You see an oil painting about an arms length wide and a bit more than an arms length high. It is mostly held in soft darker colours giving the picture a gentle relaxed tone.

You can see that the picture shows a comfortable room, which is illuminated by a cosy burning fireplace throwing soft shadows into the room.

In the rocking chair sits an old elven woman with long white hair and gentle features, seemingly comfortable and happy. She is wearing a long with gold embroidered black robe and on her nose she has some reading glasses, which are needed as she is reading from a book. On her lap under the book she reads sleeps a red and white stripped cat and you can see that the woman is caressing the cat gently with one hand while holding the book in the other hand. Her face is wrinkled from age, but shows kindness and love while she is reading and when you look closely at her you can see that she has the features of Reann. Also when you look very closely you can make out the title of the book she is reading and it says "Reann's fairy Tales".

Around her, on a comfortable and warm looking polar bear rug, sit five elven children none older than five. They seem to listen intently to her story and one of the children seems to be a little frightened as he covers his eyes with his hands. One of the children clutches a big teddy bear in her hands on which something is embroidered which reads like " From Granny Reann to keep you safe"

If you look closely you just can make out a small mouse hole in the right corner of the room. And from it a tine face of a mouse is visible and seems to listen intently to the story too.*

Letters

Dear Helen Hearsay,

As you might know the Poste is owing the Duchy quite a lot in rent and so I would like as favour that you nay insult Lady Shelly or the Duchy in your reports, as else we might insist on a quick repayment and that the renting fee might have to be adjusted.

I nay want to ask that you nay write the truth, just that you leave out the insulting comments about people and write in a nicer manner

Yours, Kaelyn

Though I can't speak for Miss Hearsay, I do know that the news will out the truth and only the truth! We will not fall flat to blackmail! - G.G

Klion,

It has been brought to my attention that you have decided to continue to prosecute your futile war against Trinsic. This is not advisable. I remind you that I hold Trinsic in trust for the crown, and have been ratified in that position. You have no jurisdiction within the city bounds and have vastly exceeded your authority in attempting to claim it. Furthermore, your subsequent cowardly attack on my guardsmen was deplorable.

I now give you due notice and warning that you have overstepped the mark. Any Yewman or woman found on Trinsic soil will be summarily removed, and a bounty has been placed on the heads of any and all Yewish guards. Trinsic shall not submit to your ridiculous demands, nor be intimidated by your blatant acts of aggression.

Irvyn Middlethorn Duke of Trinsic, Servant of the Realm, Defender of the South, etc etc

The personal seal of the Duke of Trinsic: An eagle flying, holding the branch of a thornbush in its claws; surrounding are the words "Mine honour is my life; both grow in one; take honour from me, and my life is done."

Just a small point Duke, Sir, you state in your letter that "you that I hold Trinsic in trust for the crown", mayhap you should listen to your own words and do something FOR the crown. get the rebels and rebel supporters OUT of the 'City of Honor'. Kaldorians, Covians, Vesperians alike. They have all made their claim to wanting the land of Britannia for themselves, and you freely let them use your City as a base. G.G

Umbra University is hiring! Due to the increase in research requests, lectures and the workload induced by the expeditions the University is now hiring staff members to assist with various tasks. Lecturers, scientists, students, assistants – whatever your field might be, send your detailed application to the University and arrange a meeting with the existing staff or Elder Aryala.

Proclamation! Due to the Duchy of Trinsic of Trinsic declaring war on Yew, we find ourselves again at loggerheads with the well known rebel sympathizers.

Also, because of notices going up around Trinsic of the bounty on every Yewish born person, we have made our own.

The Militia of Yew will pay a bounty of 5000 gold crowns for every rebel sympathizer, Trinsic guard, or rebel that is taught a lesson, and proof handed over.

Also, anyone handing to us a Trinsican guard, rebel, or rebel sympathizers (alive), will receive 800 gold crowns.

Proclamation!

Due to the attack of Yew on the Duchy of Trinsic there is now war between the two lands.

Because of this the Duchy will pay a bounty of 2000 gold for every Yewian that is beaten up. For confirmation to the beating up of a Yewian guard, bring the badge of the guardsmen you have beaten up to Captain Kaelyn of the Duchy Guards.

Also any Yewian milita on Duchy lands is to be considered an outlaw and may be freely attacked and thrown off the lands or to do whatever you see fit.

Kaelyn

I must point out here, the 'Captain' Kaelyn firstly asks for ANY Yewian to be beaten. Is this really the action of someone working for the King, or the work of an evil, malicious, vindictive woman? - G.G.
