Phae Quaintly

Phaedra Quaintly was the "evil twin" of the Quaintly dynasty. The dark-side to her sister Gwyndolyn's sweetness and light. Having inherited her father Earl Quaintly's business, she effectively locked her twin out of any financial gain and subsequently blazed a trail of self-serving avarice through the mercantile classes of Moonglow before turning her attentions to Magincia.

There she formed an unholy alliance with the famed (and much maligned) rogue/politician Lyim Rashidat. Upon discovering a default in payments that Senator Rashidat had allowed to occur, Phae Quaintly bought up the deeds of over half the merchant premises throughout Trinsic and made an indecent amount of money smuggling fancy goods into East Trinsic docks, and selling them on for huge profits on the West side of the city. Phae was seemingly untouchable throughout her business career, under constant protection by drow and vampire alike, favoured by Trinsic's Duke, Irvyn Middlethorn, and capable of buying her way in or out of any trouble that arose for her.

Her relationship with Venom d'Orsay raised more than a few eyebrows, and her association with Odentheus of the Collegium sparked much speculation before she returned to Moonglow in the role of Governess over the Council of Moonglow. Her greatest "achievement" was bringing down the Magincian government by promising Cal Soulshadow's army a stake in Moonglow's affairs and a diplomatic safehaven for Kaldor on Verity Isle, in return for the Army of Kaldor's martial clout in Magincia.

Quaintly's relationship with Rashidat faltered somewhat after that, when Lyim's younger half-brother Darius Dante made her acquaintance. It is generally believed that Phae's engagement to Dante led to her psychological unhingement, and that she fled to the icy reaches of northern winter on Tokuno to live out her days alone in a climate as cold and barren as her own heart.
