Northern lands

The Northern Lands is a term often used to refer to the feral areas surrounding Yew, but can also include the city-states of Vesper, Cove and Minoc. Northerners are generally thought to be more uncouth and prone to violence then their Southern, and Midlands counterparts. Such is often shown to be the case; as in recent years the majority of armed conflicts have taken place north of Britain. The "North" is also often applied to the Covian-Vesperian alliance in it's various incarnations. This supposedly backwards part of the world is home to the long-standing loyalist-rebel conflict, the increasingly successful republican movement, and the oppresive Avatarian Churches of Cove and Yew.
