Background
The eldest son of Marcus II of the Truentis dynasty, brother to Aulus, and one unknown sister. Much of Montac's early life is unknown, it is thought that after the death of their father, the three children were taken to mainland by an elderly sage where they were to be educated and taught the skills required for their future. Brief documents of various Guilds note Montac as having some part in them, it is understood that he joined the White Order of Britannia, and rose to the rank of General before leaving the Order to pursue a life in the wild as a Ranger, keeping in touch only with some of his closest friends, including the rogue Darkwater. It is also believed that he spent some time working with the Duchy Paladins, eventually becoming a brother-knight.
Founding of the Republic
Montac returned to Magincia aged thirty two, where he worked with Gerrick Adarastos in governing the island state. Some time later Montac took leave of the isle and was replaced as governor by Mehdi Ibn Salaad. After the decline of Magincia under the Adarastos, Salaad and Sanctos families Montac returned to establish a sovreign Republic of Magincia.
Magincia became a free state for those who were not hostile towards the Kingdom of Britannia, but did not wish to live under its rule. The People's Senate was established, in which some men of note – the likes of Darkwater and Lyim Rashidat – served along side the House of Truentis. During this time of prosperity the Church of Magincia was established and the Legions reformed by Claudius Brutus, a life-long servant and protector of the Truentis family named Legatus Legionis (Commander of Legions).
Some time later Lord Montac married Devnet Truentis, and the two had a son named in honour of Montac's late father; Marcus Truentis. The reign of the Truentis family saw Magincia move from strength to strength, securing trade agreements and alliances with Vesper and Cove as well as hosting events such as the Magincian Games. The family steadily grew further apart as Montac became consumed by matters of state and the child Marcus turned ever more rebellious and unmanagable.
Death
The eventual demise of Montac came with the arrival of his younger brother Aulus, who arrived in a time of economic decline to "defend the family's honour" and take Magincia on the path of strength and Empire. The young Aulus challenged Montac to a duel, accusing him of their father's murder. Montac – by now in his late fourties – was able to hold off his younger brother in the battle for some time, delivering many crushing blows and even shattering the young man's shield. However, the strength of the aging Lord was not enough, and the speed of the younger brother proved greater. Montac took a deep wound to the chest and died moments later, little under a week from his fiftieth birthday.
Aulus proclaimed himself Imperator Magincianum and with the conquest of Nujel'm moved his dream of Empire closer towards realisation, all the while showing public compassion to the grieving Devnet and Marcus – though many now believe that he secretly conspired their demise. Aulus went so far as to arrange a grand public funeral for the fallen Lord Montac, however the body was stolen before the event could take place, and has yet to be found.
Devnet slipped into a state of grief that consumed her, and eventually perished, supposedly at the hands of the Yewish Militia. Montac's son and heir would survive the collapse of the Empire and move to the mainland, drifting from brothel to brothel, throwing away the family fortune on expensive booze and cheap women.
