Appearance

The few people unlucky enough to see Lyar up close usually only see him briefly before a bolt plunges into their torso. However those that do get a chance to study him realise he is an unusual looking man in his mid fourties. His clothing lacks any kind of style, the clothes and armour he wears are purely for practical purposes, sturdy leathers and thick wool that allows him to move quickly and silently, without restricting his ability to use a bow.

Not very tall, he doesnt look intimidating, however his large, staring amber eyes are unusal, coupled with his steely grey, scruffy hair and beard and clammy, fish white skin makes people uncomfortable.

However the oddness doesn't end there, whilst in battle or hunting his chosen victim Lyars dons a black leather mask, cleverly crafted to look like the face of a goblinoid creature with large protruding ears.

Lyar doesn't talk. Very few people have ever heard him talk, which adds to the unnerving air, a short, slender, completely silent man who is rarely seen. The few that have heard him talk would tell you he speaks quietly with a strange hissing quality to his words, as if with an exagerated lisp or snake like.

History

Nothing is known of Lyars history, other than the fact he was brought to the Caste by Roisin O'Shea. As he never spoke and Roisin never told anyone anything about him (if she ever knew anything about him that is), it's little wonder no one knows.

Role

Lyar was one of the Shadow Hawks, the first one to take up a bow on assassinations. He proved invaluable, crippling and disabling people who tried fleeing the Castes wrath so they could quickly dispatch their chosen victims.
