Appearance
Leo Madsen stands at 5"9 tall with a fairly stocky "solid" build. He has long, dark chestnut brown hair tied back into a neat ponytail and light, misty grey eyes. Leo doesn't appear all that at threatening first glance though he has a "reliable" everyman look about him. Apart from that he looks no different from the local yewish peasent folk, apart from his uniform. His uniform is carefully maintained, cleaned and repaired with sergeants markings on his platemail arms. He also has a broad Yewish accent. Other than that he is nothing exceptional really.
History
Leo was raised on a farm in Yew. Since he was young he helped his parents on the farm, and then later inherited it upon their deaths. However the swamp began to drown his crops and the monsters began to attacking his cattle and chickens until he had nothing left whatsoever, having no money and no where to go Leo joined the local militia.
Guardsman Career
For a brief period Leo was exiled from all Yewish lands and territories for having fallen in love with the daughter of the Lord Protector, well above his station. His time in exile has toughened Leo up somewhat and he has become ruthlessly efficient when he sets his mind to any task.
Since Leo has been sergeant of 3rd Company - Light and finally 2nd Company - Line where he leads the men and women that are the very backbone of the militia. Leo has taken an odd pride in being the youngest serving officer, and the youngest serving officer in decades, whereas most of the officers are in their thirties at least, Leo was promoted during his early twenties. He also spent brief spells as Drill Corporal of the militia and as sergeant Daven Carpenters aide. Since returning from exile Leo had fallen in love again with Te'ani Lanoor, a half drow girl daughter of the traitor to the militia Dominick Lanoor, however after being caught courting her, before she was fully accepted by the militia, the church banned them from seeing one another.
Personality
Leo is a normally a pretty amiable, likeable kind of of guy, who prefers to get along with anyone. Having been raised on a farm in Yew, Leo was a devout avatarian, extremely religious and very firm about people showing respect for rank and authority. Leo used to be pretty placid and was, once upon a time slow to anger and sometimes appeared quite docile but was occaisionally prone to bouts of cynicism and sarcasm. Leo is distinctly aware of class and money barriers between himself and other guardsmen, having been a poor farmer all his life, whos farm eventually floundered and went under. He has never been hero or a leader, he's just a regular guy, one of the many yewish peasents that have joined the militia.
