The blue-caped Knights Templar are – as their name suggests – a band of knightly warrior-priests, formed to uphold the Virtues and laws of the Kingdom from their stronghold, Fort Belvoir. Drawing heavily on their real-world name sakes and the archetypical fantasy paladin, they see themselves as a bulwark against chaos and oppression, and amongst the most honourable knights in Sosaria. Total adherrance to the System of Infinity, an honourable and virtuous lifestyle, and a firm respect for the individual's will are their foremost ideals, holding the politics of the land in much lower regard. The guild was founded as the Order of the Silver Serpent by Lord Manderville as part of the ERPA role-playing association. Two other knightly guilds – the Knights Hospitaller and the Knights of Virtue – would eventually split from the Templars. After Lord Taggart oversaw the guild's decline and eventual disbandenment in '07, the Templars made a comeback in '09, under the leadership of Gendin d'Trinsic, moving from Trinsic and Beaufort to Yew and Belvoir.
