House of D'Gar

The House of D'Gar was not always a noble dynasty. Indeed, just two generations ago they were simple and often struggling burghers; middle-class city dwellers of Britain. Their collective fates changed with the rise of Klion, the son of a banker, through the ranks of the Yewish Militia, and his eventual coup following the end of Captain Stormbrow's regime. With Klion's ascent as Lord Protector of Yew the family found themselves loosely in possession of much of the region, with direct access to it's provincial treasury, and a number of personal domains. In becoming a noble himself, Klion inferred various titles and grants upon his immediate family; the cause of some controversy, considering the Drowish blood of his wife and the mixed descent of his children. Regardless, the Yewish aristocracy were quick to fall in behind this strong, Militia-backed regime, making the D'Gars one of the most influential families in all Sosaria. At some point Klion and his sons Caden and Tristan vanished from Yew, though Larynda and their daughters would remain behind, holding loose dominion for several weeks, before their removal from power during the grim events of the Border Wars. They would, however, remain a prominent noble family.
