Danifae D'Gar was the penultimate child of Klion D'Gar, Lord Protector of Yew, and his Drowish wife, Larynda. For most of her life she was the youngest of the brood, raised in the family's capital estate beside her brothers Caden and Tristan. She has been noted by many to be the least Drowish of the D'Gar offspring in her appearance, contrasting sharply with her elder sister Imrae; with fair skin and black hair, and only the slightest elongation of her ears. This would not be the only point of significant difference between she and Imrae, for where her sister knew well the ways of Stonekeep life, Danifae arrived completely unprepared. However, as a member of the Yewish aristocracy young Danifae flourished, regularly attending banquets and balls, and making her somewhat meek presence felt amongst the provincial elite. She would become romantically entagled with a number of men while in the forest township, including members of the black-kilted D'Gar Guard, a certain love-sick officer, and – in a cruel twist of fate – Baron Octiovus of Cove's illegitimate son, Raziel. All these relationships were ultimately doomed to failure, however, and a heart broken Danifae would slowly fade from the social scene. Unlike her siblings, Danifae remained in Yew following the dissappearance of her mother and father, leaving her in an uncertain and potentially dangerous situation.
