Crimson Plains
From MoongatesWiki
The Crimson Plains (or Bloody Plains, sometimes erroneously named Altmere) is a wide stretch of grassland and boggy fen between the three towns of Britain, Minoc, and Cove, named for the many battles and skirmishes fought in the area, and famed for it's dense growth of mandrake. Beyond the well kept and heavily guarded road from Britain this is a dangerous land, home to brigands, lizardfolk, ratmen, and a great many forms of hostile fauna. To the south lie the still waters of Lock Lake, to the north the arid wasteland of Compassion Desert, to the east the dark and brooding Mountains of Avarice, and to the west the vast and snow-capped peaks of the Serpent's Spine. The area itself constitutes three main parts, the western plain, the central Bog of Desolation, and the eastern marches.
Throughout the first century the region was home to the famed Malphane dynasty. To this day their mighty stronghold stands guard at the crossroads. It would also become the final battlefield of Lord Robere's Rebellion in the mid second century, in which Lord British slew his traitorous brother.
