Cove is a tiny coastal village located between Britain and Vesper. This small community has but a handful of buildings, among them a farmers market, a supply shop for warriors, and a healer, and more recently a bank. There is a fortress to the south that has served in the past as a staging point for periodic Orc attacks on the town.

Europa History

The small town of Cove has often been a point of contention between Loyalist powers and the Republic of Vesper, itself free from the rule of Lord British or his council. Various powers have controlled this town at one point or another, switching loyalty between the Vesperians and the loyalists often.

There was even a short period of time when the town of Cove was controlled by the invading Army of Kaldor, under Commander Cal Soulshadow. Prior to this invasion Cove was included as part of Vesper, and Governed by Hutula Sanctos, who managed to retain the Governorship during the Kaldorian invasion. Cove's economy saw a boost from the trade connections to Magincia and Nujel'm during this time, both wealthy Island Nations seperate from the control of Britain and the Great Council.

It was through Vesperian hegemony in the region that Cove came to be ruled as the independent Barony we see today. The Baron of Vesper at that time, Kain Twothumb, controversially appointed the Covian nobleman Octiovus von Richter as client ruler of Cove, to combat the Orcs who had captured the town. He made this appointment without the consent of other high-ranking officials and military minds of the Republic. It is still unclear why Kain took such an action, though it has had far reaching consequences since. As Cove grew beneath the iron fist of the Baron, it soon became apparent that the Republic had little sway over the town, or it's leader. Cove is now acknowledged as an independent and sovereign nation. It is currently home to the Baronship of Cove.
