Castle Britannia is the castle of the King of Britannia, Lord British, as well as the seat of power for the Great Council. Castle Britannia is also the center of Britannia's coordinate system, located at 0'0" / 0'0".
Facilities
The Castle is notable for being located in the exact centre of Britannia; it is located just as far from the northern borders as it is from the western- and southern borders. In the middle of the castle, you may find the impressive throne room, where in Ultima Online staff-sponsored events are frequently held.

Portcullis
The portcullis of Castle Britannia can be lowered. If you stand on top of the castle wall and double-click the portcullis, it will lower. You cannot raise it from the top, but if you either stand on the drawbridge outside the castle, or in the courtyard within the castle walls, you may raise it again by double-clicking it.
