Caden D'Gar was the eldest son and heir of Klion D'Gar, the Lord Protector of Yew, and his Drowish wife, Larynda. Following his father's elevation to the Protectorate, Caden emerged from a life of nigh obscurity in the family's capital estate. Although it would be some years until he actively participated in the governance of the province, he did eventually emerge as a likely successor to his father, showing much the same commanding presence and political ability. He would eventually be named Baron of Deepwood – a strictly ceremonial role appointed without the agreement of the hamlet's populace – and acknowledged by his father as heir to the Protectorate, an arrangement with no shortage of detractors. Following his parents' own dissappearance Caden departed from Yew without warning or explaination.
